================================================================

The Lodgepole Dodgers Snowmobile Club of La Pine, Oregon is hosting the 2017 OSSA Convention and Banquet in La Pine, Oregon January 11 - 16th.  You are invited to come and explore the over 150 miles of groomed trails maintained by our club as well as some of Oregon’s best "boondocking”.  This "once a year” event is not to be missed … meet new riders, visit with old friends, learn about snow safety, explore new country, learn about new technology, see new sights and most importantly, HAVE FUN!

EVERYBODY IS WELCOME

All snowmobilers are invited ... OSSA members and non-members are welcome.  All sleds and all riding abilities are welcome.  Activities included with registration include:

  • Club guided rides for all abilities  every day, Wednesday through Sunday.
  • Snow Bike demo rides by MotoTrax

  • Nightly social events with no-host dinners and beverages.

  • Live music, dancing and (no-host) BBQ rib dinner on Thursday night, no cover charge.

  • Vendors fair, door prizes and hosted pizza feed on Friday night.

  • Educational and information meetings and seminars

  • Hosted banquet dinner on Saturday night with guest speaker, fundraiser auctions and door prizes.

NEVER RIDDEN A SLED?  … Are you new to snowmobiling or don’t own a sled?  Have you always wanted to try riding a sled but not ready to make that big of an investment into a sport that you’re not even sure you like? No problem … there are several companies in Central Oregon that specialize in renting sleds and all the cold weather gear necessary to get you out on the trails in comfort and style. Mention the OSSA Convention for possible discount.

MORE ABOUT THE RIDES  The club led rides will be organized into beginner, intermediate and expert rider abilities and all riders will be grouped between a "lead” and a "sweep” club member who will constantly be monitoring to keep the groups together. Beginner rides will enjoy a leisurely pace and remain on our groomed trail system to reach destinations like Paulina Peak Overlook, Paulina Falls, Cinder Hill Overlook and the Devil’s Horn Play Area. These groomed trails are smooth, wide and machine packed.   Intermediate rides will use the groomed trail system to reach places like The Tea Cup, Rollercoaster, The Dome, Three Hatchet Flats and North Paulina Peak where riders can play in the powder and attempt small hill climbs.  This group will travel at their own pace, both on and off the trails, and will re-group often to keep everyone together.  The expert riders will not spend much time on the groomed trails but will instead be making their own trails in the steepest and deepest terrain they can find.  The Ladies Ride on Friday is for intermediate and beginner riders who can start their own machine and are ready for an adventure. This ride will cover both trails and boondocking and will offer some challenges as well as some instruction.   Wednesday & Thursday’s rides will start at Kapka Snow Park and explore the Tumalo/Broken Top area.  Lunch will be provided for $10 by the Sisters Sno-Go-Fers at 3 Creeks Shelter on Wednesday and by the Central Oregon Snowbusters at the Wanoga Shelter on Thursday. The rest of the rides will start at Ten Mile Snow Park and will explore the Newberry Monument.   Paulina Lake Lodge will serve lunch for $14 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Expert riders should bring their own lunch every day. If the snow and weather conditions are suitable, the Sunday expert ride will start at "3-Corners” and will explore the Taylor Burn area near Waldo Lake.   For the first time ever, there will be several snow bike riders in our numbers and Mototrax  will be offering demo rides on these amazing machines at the staging areas.
